Nice to see everyone in the Hangout today. 🙂
I did some thinking about how we left things, and have some suggestions. For Anil, who had to jump offlilne shortly before the conclusion, we were triumphant against our third wave of attackers, which included a marauder chieftain that we Held and then incapacitated, which helped result in the surrender of a bunch of other marauders. This was on the heals of several of them dropping dead from the Stinking Cloud that we blew their way, so it seemed to be a good course of action for them.
So, here are some decisions for us to make:
1) kill the survivors
2) take the survivors prisoner
3) let the survivors go
4) keep some of the survivors as prisoners
5) return to the mining camp.
Oh, I forgot to mention, as we were trying to figure out if we could force the surviving marauders to blow their horn to signal a retreat, our employers at the mining camp blew their horn signalling a retreat. So the mining camp position has been overrun, apparently.
6) Chase the marauders back to their own camp and loot it.
7) Say “to hell with all this” and leave.
And, I think we deserve a hearty pat on the back. The mining camp were out-numbered 2-to-1, and seem to have fallen. Our corridor was outnumbered approximately 8-to-1 (6 of us, about 48 or so of them, including the Specials). And we’re barely scratched for it. Hell, those 20 orcs didn’t even have a chance to do anything except stand there. (To be honest, Ferris only used the Stinking Cloud scroll because Ray needed wrap this up… then the orcs would have had something to do.)
So, trying to decide between course of action 5 and 6, maybe Ghenelon could fly back to the camp, with the ring of invis?, an scout it out while he’s still hasted, and then report back. We don’t have a ton of tricks up our sleeve to defeat an army of marauders, but it would be good to know if there is anything worth going back to save. In the meantime, we could loot the bodies that we have accumulated, and fortify our position.
