These notes start on Saturday, Day 2 (8/7)
Party has just gated into the Silver Well, to the Archipelago that has a lot of ruins from the Metternalites. The silver kingdom guards tell us that the human encampment are loosely allied in cause because they are trying to clear out the undead watchers at the monoliths. They tell us that the undead at the monoliths are run by undead beholders. We confirm the direction to the nearest one with our undead compass, but we decide to visit the humans first. We also ask the winter warriors if there is a signal or etiquette to communicate with the silver kingdom to minimize trouble as we pass, and they tell us a pose/hand signal to communicate that we have a Writ of Passage from a distance.
*Eric joins via zoom at 11:10 a.m.*
*Update Eric on how we got here, and things we learned about the gold realm and the soul nets that split the soul out into its components* Works into our theory that gold realm is everywhere, including touching the material realms. Also, staying in the gold realm requires you to make saves against soul disintegration, so immortal level Survival. Also, use Gold Realm sight to figure out where you want to go in before you go in, or else you’ll just die there trying to look around.
**Back to the Action**
We Fly in the silver realm to the ruins of the center of Metternalite activity. We see a shipwreck, with the Silver realm pennant on it, which means leave it alone. It’s a bizarre style of ship.
The ruins itself. Very little is still standing, stubs of walls. There are three active giant skeletons amid the ruins on the material plane that we can see via a mirror. Undead warrior types, but not necessarily the official type. 10, 11, and 9 HD undead guards on the material side.
Lakshmi suggest Carrock wish for Brass Sight for the day, makes a wish wording for him. Winter warriors think there is even more undead at lower levels. Maybe Thanatos killed off the brass avengers? Anyway, Carrock uses the Wish. Efrim uses the dagger, we make fun of Clay. Lakshmi and Al earth glide to look for clues.
Brass sight: peering into brass realm, looking at the ruins, there are undead monitors, 14 hd, 12 hd, 9 hd, and ectoplasmic net, so a haunt of some kind, we can see the tentacle ball with true sight – it’s a poltergeist. *We rehash what we have learned about Ka, wonder about the prime plane, and if the ethereal was set up by one of these gods as a sanctuary for the gods and their followers, a barrier against the metallic? **More sidetalk about planar theory.
We decide to go through the material first, take out the guards, and then go to the human camp.
We use a mirror to phase through from silver to the material, and hopefully get the drop on the guards… Lakshmi hits it with a staff for 39 points of damage. Al finishes it off. Vellium roles a 20, then a 17 to hit with the voulge, which amounts to x4 and x3 damage. First hit, 124. It’s powder before the second hit lands. Carrock destroys his opponent with 100 points of damage event.
Ruins are cleared of the undead.
We look around to see what they were guarding. It was a small town… stubs of walls from buildings no longer standing. Nothing lying in the open to catch our attention. Lakshmi uses x-ray vision. L and A earth glide around. The range for x-ray from spectacles is 30’. Duration is 1 turn. We look around the main tower remains. We look underground with earth glide. X-ray in? We go into the ruins, step into the wall… after 3 turns of searching under tower, find old coins, metal tube caps from a scroll case (case is gone), metallic compass? Al uses the Tome to repair the Compass. It repairs. It’s made of Bronze, face has 10 digits and repeat. The kind of compass made for drafting, making circles. Al puts it in the Bag of Holding. [Later, we give it to the humans. “Third Generation, Type C, Metternalite mapping compass”. They are impressed and grateful]
Anil remembers that he has the knowledge of the Metternalite Historian… We think of metternalites as the Soul Plane people, but they are also just curious. Mathematics… It’s known that the M people set up a long term community to here to explore the metallic planes and soul mechanics. This archipelago was chosen because it was easier to shift realms here, the plants grow freely. The blue green grass underwater, the traufflin trees, etc. We set out to go find the human camp. It’s on the map, maybe 16-20 miles away.
At the camp… outside, there is one “regular” person, looks like he might be Soemm. The other person is a Heyenauc – the human with big bone spurs, over developed bones overall, super strong. He’s tending the fire. There is another human in the entryway in a tent. The camp is very small overall. It’s not a settlement, there’s 6 tents. We land 100 feet away, and approach on foot. Talo (Carrock) arrives singing. The guy goes and gets a huge crossbow, points it at us.
The guy standing at the tent turns to look, and makes a big hand gesture. Al returns the winter kingdom gesture. An armored man shows up in the tent, looking lordly. He gestures at the other two to stand down, and comes forward to meet us, unafraid. The Heyenauc stands behind the tent, but we can see him, waiting. More people come out of the tent. L hails him in his language. Efrim throws down the jawbones from the undead we just killed. “What are those?” “Jawbones from the giants over there at the ruins”. They cheer. We talk about the undead there, and how we cleared them out. We get around to talking about the undead beholder. The man is wearing platemail, he has a holy symbol. A flower petal in a golden bowl. On our religion checks, we get super lucky because it’s rare. The most-lesser of gods, Haillik, god of psychic and bodily health.
Efrim yells “Come forward, cleric of Hailik!” They fire a crossbow bolt and everyone freaks out. The cleric calms them down, and he explains that they thought he was being insulted. Another guy explains he was insulted by calling him a “cleric of Hailik” – he’s a HIGH PRIEST. Address them by their titles.
They want to know our titles. We say we come from Tortoise Back and have no titles. They always add “Commoner” in front of our names. “Commoner Big Lou”, for example. Talo claims to have a title of Singer, which they explain means commoner. But they call him Singer Talo.
L is artifact undetectable
Anchor Eskokit? Address as High Priest Eskokit. Only one of them has a title, her name is Nuua, Elder Twin Nuua. Only very small percent are identical twins. Twins are expected to stay with their twins until one of them dies. There is no twin present. After introductions, he invites us to set down our weapons and go in the main tent to share information.
“We followers of Haillik consider Mangit to be a kindred spirit.” We go in the tent. We sit on pillows. Everyone sits except the boney guy, who can’t seem to sit maybe?
His father was stark raving mad, so he’s interested in psychic health. The metallic planes test your sanity. They came here to learn, found out there are undead watchers at all the interesting sites. They are sure the watchers are under the control of a more powerful undead in the region. They are worried the more powerful will raid them. “The Undead Beholder” we ask? No, but Undead Ergents. Pale white bulbous skin, have eyestalks. More social, more cunning. Sounds like something the Yoichig party ran into on their planar trip. Carrock bought a book called “Is that a beholder? Look again!” In that book they are called “Ergs”. They have a complex civilization. Turns out Carrock is the expert – zing!
He doesn’t know that much about undead ergents. They started appearing a couple hundred years ago. They are trying to hatch a plan to kill the watchers before the watchers could report.
At the keep, there are more guardians….
We probe them for more information for savoir faire, what do we do when we meet people and don’t know their titles? What’s the lay of the land? If you don’t know their status, always assume they are higher status than they are. Use “Viscount” if you don’t think they are a commoner.
-It’s a very hierarchical society.
They want to explore the town. We talk, should we take them with us? They know about realm travel, but they are nervous about passing through the winter kingdom. We gave them a shiny artifact, we can give them other useless stuff. They confirm that this is the best place to go through to the lower realms… but there are more and more undead further down… are there human strongholds further down? Says, there are lots of islands in the plane, pretty good chances that they are not going to be watched. The big cities do not mirror all the way down. The metternalites were adamant about it. Anywhere there is a keep, there is another one all the way down to the bronze. L mentions the auburn sisters, that maybe they created it, he agrees, that’s one theory at least. Thinks it’s unlikely metternalites have cities there.
Efrim asks about being closer to the soul… is there a spot on the plane where that is more true? The high priest has been to the bronze, but he doesn’t know that answer.
On the bronze lately, he says, the undead “have more personality… they are interested in life things.”
We are focused on finding an enclave of free willed undead, on the continent of Genn, on the bronze realm. We heard about it from the high priest.
We spend a day at Town B ruins with the humans. Nuaa is a magic user. She created a magic item. Too far away from a chromatic area where she gets her magic from, but she made an earth glide vest. Looking for Rings from Drums used in the defense of warfare. The skins and wood components are dust, but maybe we can repair them? We reconstruct them.
Warning drum from metternalite era. It’s 8 feet high, and the size of a small pool. Multi-layered drum, with hard wood in balls between the layers for extra reverberation. Back in the day, the giant clans would hide from their enemies behind their walls. The drums will vibrate if someone is earth gliding under their walls, give them warning that someone is tunneling under the wall.
Find a metal box with weird holes at odd angles. Big Lou figures it out… slots are for mirrors and lenses. Repair? Al repairs the box just for good measure. The box is one component of a more complex deal. Wooden stilts would hold the box over a tray, in the tray there is a thin layer of yellow dust. There is a wooden cover on top. Efrim thinks it’s a device for copying something that is in the light, a reverse projector? LORE: Called “Silloete projector”. You point it as someone, and it creates a well-defined shadow in the box, if it had ink, the paper would absorb the ink, and recreate the image on the paper.
At the end of the day, they are prepping to move the drum back to their camp or a permanent location, and the warning drum starts to rumble…
Then one of the guys says “Liquifier!” The rumbling intensifies, and the ground starts to shake like water… the spot behind Vellium erupts, 40’ across. Carrock notices there is another one, a bit to the north. Emerging from the ground is giant skulls (snake?) followed by the rest of the body. 24 HD. They are trying to swallow the nearest people. Vellium and one of the other low level guys.
Let’s fight!
Uh, yeah, we beat them pretty fast, but not before one of the low level fighters was bitten and energy drained.
We load up the drum on our three flying carpets, and rig it up to get out of here asap.
Eskoka explains to Velleum – very impressed with his combat by the way – explains the Undead Erg is going to be pissed. Those were called “Burrow Argos” and they are very expensive to make. The undead version. They are only supposed to be for intel gathering and aren’t supposed to be put at risk. They aren’t supposed to be fighters, they were supposed to find out what destroyed the skeletons without being damaged.
We get back to the camp. Everyone is nervous about being raided at night, but we make it through without being molested.
The next day, they are still thrilled about getting artifacts from the town. They have abandoned the dream of excavating at the keep. They talk about going back to the bronze, and are interested in teaming up if we want to. High Priest has selected followers of different temperaments that he wants to take with him. How did they get out here? They took a boat…. We talk about wanting to go to Genn, and scheme a way to magically transport everyone.
Braid of Thorn has Transport via Plant. Total PPs: 180
So we had a plan to send a plant, scrying it, and then transporting via plant. Lakshmi can send herself, and Al can take himself, and send the new fancy drum.
Of the 24 continents on the plan, 14 are in temperate zone. Most are mountainous (small communities). Genn is mountainous but very fertile. Somnolya is the other, which is not mountains but has a lot of plains and valleys. The valley area of Genn has a “Thundervales” area famous for storms. There you find a village. The leadership is a triple of brothers, Nesk brothers. As triplets they are revered. Nest Yezzer, Next Ensker, and Nesk Hemmer. Priest and paladin of Mangit, and third is a thief.
Lakshmi goes first, teleports, with a plant. Al sends the big drum through via teleport. Then we go through via transport via plant. She almost drops it, and as it lands on the ground, the Drum of Warning rumbles, echoing through the storm vale.
We go into the village as part of the High Priest’s entourage. They have a big feast, mainly for the high priest and those humans, but they tolerate us. They seem to have a lot of chauvinistic fears of men. So Lakshmi is ok because she’s not a threat. The dragon-form men are highly suspect.
Lakshmi hangs out with the women, and tries to get them to overthrow the men. They laugh, and tell her that she reminds them of these women from a village called “Genna” where there are giant women there with horns that herd goats? Sheep? Not auburn, but per Al these are probably auburn sisters that have not been to the gold realm. This is an all-women village on the Genn continent. How do they make babies? Tee-hee! They go under the covers! Somehow they do it without men.
Some of the villagers overcome their fear of strangers, and come and serve us wine, and ask us questions about our families. We smoothly re-direct. The Nesk brothers come and visit just the men. When they visit the women they bring their wives. We can meet them, and can talk about Mangit, but there’s no pressure. They don’t quiz us too hard. We stay the night with no incident.
We make plans to delve down through the realms.
We talk about our plans with Nesk brothers. The Winter Warriors have a lookout tower on the silver, but the Nesks can tell us where to go through without being in view of the winter folk.
Efrim says, “Before we go… have you seen fancy horns like this?” Shows the horn of the auburn sisters. “Just like us, you’d like to find a way into the gold.” The not evil undead leader is a powerful undead warrior. Her lover is a woman. Her name is Diamond Eyes, she’s a lich. Her eyes are artifacts. One white diamond, one blue diamond. She has a horn.
We fly over two ridges, out of the view of where the winter kingdom tower would be. We use a combination of mirrors + summer silver jewelry and Travel spells to get the whole group through to the silver realm. The group is the four OGs, and the High Priest, the Twin, and their low level people. We carry with us the blue green grass we collected on the ramfolk plane.
It’s winter here. They were going to go collect the grass, we offer ours. He starts to cast Travel again… He tries, and it doesn’t work. Maybe the grass from the other plane doesn’t work? Al and Lakshmi go over to the mountain lake invisible, and holding hands so we can x-ray vision thing. The lake is not frozen over. There is steam coming off it. Al goes underwater to grab grass (Survival activated) – look over in the lake, see a huge foot of a broken off monolith below the surface of the lake.
With this grass, High Priest Travels through the grass, and it works. Now we’re in the brass realm. The sky has a reddish orange huge. Brass is usually empty, except avengers, and animal type life. Many of the brass avengers have been destroyed though. …
We start making plans to get from brass to bronze. Talking to our party, they realize there are actually 4 ways to get to the bronze. We are stepping onto a dual planar marble disk that we previously made. We’re in the bronze, no major encounters.
There’s no grass. The ground is covered with vines. They move, but they test you first. They try to pull you down, but if you resist, they retreat. The village we are headed to is nearby. We came through slightly away from it so as not to alarm them.
Al gets ready to peer into the gold realm, Lakshmi jacks him with +3 int/wis
Sees: desolate landscape. Nothing living. Land mimics the land in the bronze. There is a mist of amber droplets that pool on the earth that form rivulets and streams, gather where the lake is. But the lake is a sinkhole that goes underground.
Al flies into the bottom of the lake. There are mud, soil, vines that try to grab. Earth glide into the mud at the bottom. On the bronze, with x-ray vision, just see mud. But on the gold, there are tunnels, filling with amber stuff, tricking downhill going northwest. Like a brook, not rushing river. 50 feet then turns a bend. Follow via earth glide. Down the tunnel, to larger room where amber has pooled. That’s all we can see. Two exits from the pool room are natural seeming. One goes up in to the mountain, one is horizontal. Al adds Truesight. On the surface, gold realm doesn’t look like it has air, but there might be air down in the tunnel. We come back up and reunite with party.
We unstone our undead companions before going into the village. As we start to unthaw them, it starts to rain, and Big Lou looks up in the sky and thinks about death. They revive in the bronze realm rain, not fearing death. This is where they are from. They speak the language, and set everyone at ease.
They have heard of the diamond eyes lady, and that gives Grawlit pause because she was a servant of Old Nyx when he left (so was he). Both of them have heard of the diamond artifacts, they give protective powers. The new friends are minds blown. The High Priest is busy monitoring the psyche of his friends. Sure they are overloaded. Doesn’t think they should be introduced to them right now.
High Priest is going to introduce us to the renegade undead, and he says we should bring our new friends as a testament that we are cool with undead.
The village is similar design to other bronze realm villages, elaborate huts. Living singly. Gardens. Out in the rain… a boy (9HD). Pale skin with fangs. He moves like a vampire, no childlike movement. Eskokit sees him, calls him by name. “Tell your sister that her old friend of Hailik has arrived. And some new liberated friends as well.” He looks… with an extremely mature gaze, and then walks of all business. He’s covered in bronze rain, slick.
We follow him to the village. The huts are wood and metal, well decorated, curated and idyllic. Like the Shire, kind of. The boy walks into a hut and we wait. An armored skeleton warrior comes out moments later. True sight shows several magical effects, bathing her entire hut and the hut next to it. So many layers. They appear as we near them. Immortal level magics. SIX LAYERS added. After that, then comes a skeletal figure in robes. The skeleton skull has bright glowing artifacts in the eye sockets. The light comes pouring out, quite intense. It’s essentially daylight, and it brings comfort to the soul. No other villages come out.
Treala (36 hd undead warrior), and the robed figure, Diamond Eyes (30 HD), cleric we figure. DE has a holy symbol under the robes… educated guesses – flower petal? Hailik? Same as High Priest. The renegade enclave seems pretty tough. The little vampire emerges from Treala’s hut. Tells us to stop, at exactly 16 feet away from him. They start speaking. They try different languages. Land on Soemm as something some of us speak.
The High Priest introduces us with our titles, including “Singer Talo of Tortoise Back”. Treala says “we warming welcome a singer to this community.” Efrim lends his new Helm of Fluency to Carrock so he can participate.
Adironta doesn’t seem to mind Al’s new form.
Hailik is relatively widely worshipped here, he’s very popular among the undead. Psychic and Bodily health? How’s that? Maybe because if you’re undead you can’t have your both back.
The tough process of making connections is made a lot easier because of the intro, and because we brought high level liberated undead with us.
Why singers? Because they found that music was the best thing to think about something else to think about something other than death. CARROCK is ready to learn all of their songs.
This community traces its freedom back to Lifra and Meivrem. They were more polished by the time Grawlit met them in bronze forger. So maybe they started liberating here.
The Thanatos people brought waves of high powered people that hunted down liberated people and destroyed the monoliths.
The plane is so huge, that it wasn’t hard for them to hide some of the monoliths. We ask them about the broken one in the lake on silver realm. Lifra and Meivrem did put one up on the silver, but it wasn’t close enough to the source to be effective.
Can they tell us more about the source?
Sure, the lower you go in metallic, the closer you are to the source. The downwardly inclined souls are closer, and the quicker they can be brought back. And the closer you are, the less afraid you are of it.
Do they ever visit the gold realm?
Yes, they’ve visited. Treala visited once with diamond eyes. Diamond Eyes has been there many times over centuries. Dead on the surface, but the amber rains used to follow a netlike pattern. If someone had been dead for a long time they would remember. Now it falls freely through an airless surface, pools, and creates sinkholes. Vast network of tunnels. The souls of the dead wander the tunnels. You can interact with them, but they don’t care very much. The followers of the evil gods are there, but they don’t care much either.
The purge of lifra and meivram people was a long time ago, but the “cheating” by Thanatos only started happening after abithir’s battle with the golem, e.g. got gold access.
Can we talk about Hailik? They don’t want to talk master plan, but they will talk organization, belief. We want to know about mortal past. … They admit he was once mortal. He was recruited by the two powerful gods, served as lesser god of health. They don’t say it, but we infer that he was well known and well liked among liberated undead, before he was immortal. The boundaries between mortal and immortal are porous here. Sprmigth and Mangit were the greater gods to his lesser god.
Diamond Eyes has been a follower of Hailik her entire life, as a religious person. Hailik’s religion is well-suited for late adoptees. Haillik would accept Grawlit no problem, if he needed a god.
How was the Gold Realm for you? Could you feel yourself getting closer to the source?
Yes, could definitely feel it. Can’t live there for a period of time and retain a sense of purpose and your original goals. You can feel yourself being tested. Don’t stay long.
How do you retain your will?
*I have a high wisdom*
Share theory that the gold realm is spread across the planes, and that helped the Auburn Sisters spread through the realms.
-They don’t know. They’ve only had a sampling of the entities in the gold realm. They’re actually pretty diverse. None of them dominate the continents.
Did you have many great singers come through here?
Yes! So many! They … remember some of their songs. They will play some while we are here. One is a faenare song. A troupe of singers came through and taught it. They came from the Ethereal realm. They were interested in the drayonne. (those disappeared 1000 years before…) *we skillfully spread out our questions so we don’t draw too much attention to this topic*
The Diamond Eyes artifacts do help protect her on the gold realm, making her more wise, and making a mental barrier. These sorts of diamonds are scattered everywhere in these planes.
Horns? Those we can find. They know they open a gate to the gold, if you can get owners of seven horns in one place. It’s actually spectacular when it happens. The constellation burns intensely and a comet crashes from the sky. People see that it has crashed, and they gather around. There is particular song that needs to be played. Yeah, we know 😉
Do immortals visit the gold?
-Don’t know, they’ve only visited for a couple of hours at a time.
Anything to see on the gold?
-All the activity is in the tunnels below. Diamond Eyes hasn’t been there for a couple hundred years. Things might be different. Souls used to be free floating, but now they seem to be busy, going places…
Al Lores it: Deep Realm Seep Stone – dual planar stone forming a canal (“Dr. See”)
Lakshmi imbues it with intelligence: Put there by an Auburn Sister. 6327 years ago (5301 BC)
How often do souls go past? Once or twice per day.
Do they always go in one direction? No.
Do living things walk past? Yes
Who? The Semughul live nearby and come this way.
Were you cut in place or brought here? I was made here.
Through a process or a spell? Both.
Does the flow change? Yes, sometimes it’s gushing, sometimes trickles, never overflows.
When was the last time you saw an auburn sister? Most recent viewing was around 5271 BC
What were they doing when they passed by? It was one sister, and she was flying. Her feet were dipping in the fluid.
We prep up with artifact stuff, no scry, invisibility, survival, and Carrock Casts Travel touching the stone. He starts to fade away. He, and his companions, found ourselves in the Gold after 1 turn.
Carrock casts Find the Path the exalted servitor of Thanatos, and starts to go downstream (west, away from center of plane)
Al tries to cast Communicate, it fails.
Al drinks a Luck potion and cast Lore from the Cloak on the amber ooze. Touching it is hard. It gives a sense of spiritual vertigo. Like it’s hard to remember why we live. Al has to make a death save roll. He uses his Luck and rolls a 20. “White Soul Solution”. The White souls are the downward travelling souls. It severs the connections between white souls.
Lakshmi makes the goo smart (3 INT):
Where did you come from? I’m a natural feature of this realm
Are there souls dissolved in you?
What happens when a soul runs into you. I dissolve the bonds of the component parts
How many parts? 5
Where do you go from here? downward
Into a cistern or cauldron? Depends
Do you get sprayed back out? What happens? When it goes down far enough, it evaporates. Back to the sky.
Do you heat up? Just dry up.
Where is your favorite place to be? Wherever I am.
How long does it take to dissolve a soul? Depends on how much of me there is
When a soul encounters you, what does it look like? Semi-transparent but more solid.
How do you touch it? I can sprinkle on it, I can be dumped on it.
Is it always raining on the surface? Yes
What effect do you have on Mortal flesh? Nothing special. I break down the soul housed in mortal flesh.
You have no effect on Immortal flesh? I don’t know.
What were you trying to do when I touched you? Trying to separate the parts of your soul.
Would I have been alive? Parts of you.
–This is the ecosystem we’re talking to.
Has anything changed in your cycle? Yes
What? Long ago I always followed a crisscrossing path to the surface, tiny lines. Now my cluster is rain.
–He used to be the net.
Do the semughuls drink your water? Yes
–There is a golden filigree holding the ooze that isn’t the seep stone, keeps the ooze in. Al Lores it.
“White Soul Solution Resistor”.
FTP: Nearest Living Faenare – no results
FTP: Faenare bones – no results
FTP: Living Dryanonne? – He starts going eastward, upstream
–We decide to leave.
Leave a plant, one that doesn’t need a lot of water. We Travel out back to the bronze.
Lakshmi summons an earth elemental, give it a unique coin and tell it to go straight to the surface and leave the coin on there. It can move for an hour.
So now, back in the bronze, we try to get Carrock to FTP to the dryanonne, but it doesn’t work.
Still going upstream, which is the direction the spirit was going. It continues to be an aqueduct about the same size. Every half mile there is a natural passage that dumps in.
We can’t see as well. Al has infravision, and gold sight. Upstream is very gradual, then levels out. Up ahead, we see floating horns. Size horns. Al sees a giant, 4 horns in its head. It starts moving in this direction without turning toward us.
Efrim says “Hi! Didn’t see you there!”, using the mystic speak with anyone power. We don’t hear anything. Efrim hears breathing and snorting, “I see you”.
Al uses True sight googles: it has 56 HD
Lakshmi’s spectacles detect EVIL
E: Is it safe to travel this path? Or is it off limits? We don’t want to disrespect your territory.
He doesn’t answer, but he walks faster.
E: You’re not undead are you?
He doesn’t answer.
E: We’ll be going if you don’t mind.
Please wait.
E: Can I sing you a song?
Yes please. –It starts to charge, and open its mouth on the gold realm, and amber starts to come out.
*We escape via Teleport any Object and Transport via Plant. Al immediately uses Communicate to talk to it:
We meant you no harm
I meant you no harm either. Why did you flee?
Because we were afraid of you. Were you going to attack?
-I was going to give you what most people want when they come here.
A. I’m hunting a servant of the undead god, do you know where I can find one?
Come back, I can find one.
Are you undead?
My kind can’t become undead
Do you have a master?
Yes
What’s her name?
I shouldn’t tell you
Have you seen any unclaimed diamond eyes?
Not recently.
Have you seen a creature like a screaming demon? I’m looking for one to help me find something…
No, not recently
Do you help people come back from the lower realm?
Sometimes “We” do, but that’s not my style.
Are you from the same home plane as the Auburn Sisters?
My ancestors are from Emmes-home (Auburn Sisters plane)
–Big Lou, Out
We bop out back to camp, and catch up with our new friends. She didn’t say they were cool if they weren’t undead – only a few can be trusted. Most are evil and work with the deadites.
Can we attack them? Yes, please do. They bring you into the gold realm by goring you. Drag you in like the brass avengers. The ooze they spew will tear your soul into pieces. You can try to attack, but if you’re on the bronze, you can only attack the horns.
Powers? They have some immunities. Some spell-like effects that they learn. 7 or 8. Charge you with their horns, pulls you into the gold, or just do damage to you if you are already there. They can only survive by drinking the amber fluid. If you cut them they spurt amber fluid on you.
Diamond Eyes tells us where the shrine for the god is in End of the World Mountains. We’d need a guide, she suggests. Ask the High Priest, she says.
…
The next day, first thing we FtP to the coin the elemental dropped. It’s West, and south of the lake of Thundervale.
Al borrows stone cutting tools from a carver in the village. Has an idea of chiseling out a chunk of Seep Stone to make a dual-planar weapon. Efrim takes charge, and fails to succeed in cutting out Al’s material.
We move on.
We go west, for 15 minutes. Invisible, in the Bronze. Big natural tunnel on the gold dumps in. A river size amount of amber fluid. The gold filigree reaches up to receive it from the side tunnel. Now the channel is 60 feet wide, and 10 feet higher. We continue down the path.
Al has learned to look up and down the channel. He sees an old woman, wearing Soemmnite clothing. Her forehead, one ear, one eye, rest is wispy. Al taps hammer on the side of the channel to make some sound. We have her attention. Hands the chisel to Lakshmi who can write in her language. L writes a question in the dust about how long ago she died… she looks around, shrugs, and keeps going.
We keep going down the tunnel, kinda following her. We go for three hours. Still aqueduct. We go for 5 hours… hours pass with no incident. Into the 6th hour, she comes across the soul of a toddler, very faded. It’s just wandering. She moves on, we follow her. Goes for another 3 hours. 8 hour total. Crisscrossing natural tunnels but no aqueducts. She’s starting to slow down. She pauses at an intersection of natural tunnels. Looks up… and then continues. We note the heavenly stems over the arch of the tunnel.
We prep, and Travel into the Gold Realm. We chase after the old lady spirit.
“Viscountess!” She turns to look, and then keeps going.
Carrock casts Speak with Dead. Her spirit form right before us turns and looks at us. Says, “You have questions”.
Where are you going?
I don’t know
You’re just wandering?
I don’t know what I’m doing
What year were you born?
Last year she was alive was this year…
Where did you arrive in this place?
I don’t remember. Where are we?
What do you think about that goo?
I don’t think I like that goo, it looks frightening.
What’s your name?
Gives it, family, then personal. “I don’t know why I’m here, this is the first I’ve thought of it. That thing I remember I was on my death bed.”
We let her go.
FTP: Exalted Servitor of Thanatos. Sends us downstream.
Al casts Immortal Eye, gold realm surface of the keep where the Keep was at on the Archipeligo.
Desolate landscape, like an empty ocean. A natural tower is there (the island), but no building or undead. Amber fluid rains down, collecting at the low point. The amber collects in the bottom of the ocean and goes into sink holes.
Another eye, to the node location.
See the island, but there’s nothing there.
Another eye, on the gold realm, where the arena is on the bronze forger, where we messed up the swine king.
Eye appears in a desolate landscape where everything is dead. No amber rain, but there is amber droplets making a gossamer net. The arena is not there, no golden warrior.
Another eye on the gold realm to Cluster to the arena where we messed up the swine king Ryllac.
The eye appears in a dead landscape, but it is the area recognizable as that valley where the big arena was.
This proves that it’s a single plane.
Lackshmi does Teleport any Object to the same arena location on the gold realm, to further test if it’s one continual plane. She sends an old cloak into the air. 200 feet up.
Al watches as the cloak falls faster and faster until it’s plummeting. It gets soaking wet with the liquid and hits hard when it hits the ground.
Al uses the eye to find a spot where the amber is pooling, and then pushes down through it. The eye is racing through natural tunnels… Run it a cluster-type peasant, man in his forties. His appearance is mostly intact. For 50 more minutes, still just in natural tunnels.
FTP: Place where parts of the souls are collected. Doesn’t work.
We travel back to the Bronze.
Lakshmi Honors Serram before sleep to let him know we should talk. Would like to share important GR information (before we are killed).
Day 3, Sunday – 8/8/2021, starting 1:18 p.m.
From the Gold Realm, Al’s Immortal Eye at 5 miles down travels another ¾ miles down and comes out the other side of the plane.
He recalls the eye to start coming back up. Approximately 2.9 miles up… the rocks start glowing. Eye starts corkscrewing, more bright rocks, glowing amber. Deep Realm Seep Stone property is that the goo can seep through it, thus it glows. (The filigree keeps it from being porous). This rock doesn’t look like seep stone though. Corkscrewing out… learn: at 2.9 miles, which seems like the middle, stone is most imbued with light at 2.9, quickly fades. The intense light is convex or concave, following the bend of the plane (bowl shape). The band of glowing stone is only a few feet thick, at the most intense part, but the light goes for much further than that. The thickness seems even away from the “bottom” of the bowl, same thickness toward the “sides”.
Wish wording happens. Carrock Wishes, and Al gets Disk Sight for an hour. No new insight on the glowing rocks, no sign of soul bits or glowing stars…
After some discussion about how to proceed, we decide to travel back out of the Gold to the Bronze to reunite.
Back on bronze, first thing is that Al sees is a female spirit appearing on the gold. He casts Immortal Eye again to follow her. After a couple of turns, he casts Communicate.
Where are you going? I don’t know.
Why are you going this way? I don’t know.
What happened to you? I was killed, in jealousy.
Are you good or bad?
I was bad.. (for sale…)
Name: Nebba Evenen
We decide to split up and try to raise her on the material plane. Al stays there and convinces her to wait, and to watch her soul when/if she gets raised.
Lakshmi, Carrock, and Efrim quickly jump up to the material plane. They head to a “house of ill repute”. The door is guarded by 6 of those big boney thugs. There’s a man with a wax tablet checking things off, running the show. Carrock is leading toward the gate. They fly over it, invisible. There’s robed women inside, posturing for the potential clients. Carrock flies over the building into an alley. Goes to a little door in the alley, opposite of the building of ill repute. On the other block… There is some kind of dorm… In that courtyard, in a corner filled with rubbish. There are sixteen urns. He goes to the newest urn, picks it up and opens it. It’s filled with ashes. The courtyard is otherwise filled with people.
Carrock grabs the urn, the party, invisible, heads out of the courtyard back to the alley. A boy starts yelling about the floating urn. Lakshmi throws coins into the courtyard as a diversion. “The vase floated and then it turned into gold!” The people start scrambling.
Party takes the urn into the alley. Carrock opens the urn, casts Raise Dead Fully. The urn breaks as the body is reforming. Lakshmi breaks the rest of the urn to allow the body to reform, and after a few moments, a living human woman is laying in the alley.
Carrock gets real close to her face so when she opens her eyes he says, “Tell me everything about the gold realm”.
She has beautiful skin, a beautiful body, and Carrock is in her face. She doesn’t understand. Lakshmi asks “Tell me where you just were.” Holds her hand.
“Where am I now?”
You’re back.
I was underground? I don’t remember.
“Who killed you?”
She’s uncomfortable laying naked on the ground in an alley. Not talking right now. Gets more comfortable. She had a regular customer who got jealous of her other customers, so he killed her. She thinks it was yesterday, but based on the cremation, the soot on the urn, it had to have been at least of couple of days before she appeared on the gold.
–Back to Al, watching her soul eyes meander around, and then the last of her turns into a cloud, and the silver cloud descends.
–Back to party. Now pressing her on her memories, now she doesn’t remember anything. They investigate options for her to not be a hooker. Set her up in a hotel with a little bit of money, and a knife to revenge kill that guy. That’s what Efrim wants. Lakshmi ignores that, tries to get her out of town, and some money.
–Al tries to help Grawlit and Adrionta find a place to be.
Friend of Adrionta, 9th on the list. Al Communicates with him, and he confirms that they are in a safe place, and that they are welcome there, as long as they are still liberated. After a tearful goodbye, Al parts with Adrionta. Grawlit is ever stoic. Al gives Adrionta his map of the Yellow Flight that was specially prepared for the Summon Object spell.
Much talking, she passes plant through to the community where her friends live, with Grawlit.
Al waits for Efrim to come pick him up. He does. Party reunited on the material plane in the Summer Capital.
This capital has a “chromatic balustrade” that grants spells?
The local king is preparing for battle with another king, the general is supposedly the best ever to have lived. The General is a mage. This king has a somewhat legit claim to be a descendent of the former real king.
This is a country at war. Most fit men are involved and busy.
Heard word that the famous Hegik – Slippery Peach – is in town and staying at a super fancy hotel.
The CHROMATIC BALUSTRADE
It’s a 25 tall gemstone statue, turquoise. In the style of an ancient deity. In a crystal pillar that goes 110 feet, topped with a capital with gemstone heads and open mouths. Out of the mouths, with disk sight, ropey threads come gushing out to lesser balustrades, which are 20’ crystal pillars throughout the city. Sometimes new lines appear (when a mage is casting a spell). The system covers 11 miles in each direction.
It’s roped off, you can’t go in. Efrim wants to touch it.
Boris Ellerga? The wakeful dragon (the general mage), he has to come back from the war front to charge up his magic.
There are floating magic disks on the plane (near the collosi in the gemstone mountains). There are disk mages there, they can’t tap into the balustrade.
According to Muus, slippery peach, the elf, still can’t cast spells from the chromatic thing. So she compensated by getting super sexy and using that as her tool, instead of magic.
We write a note to her, in Elven, seeking an introduction. Signed, “Throbbing Eggplant”
“Throbbing eggplant, You intrigue me and I would like to meet you and your friend, after a screening process.” We get screened with a scroll of questioning, and then wait. We wait in the street.
Guys come by with smelly beans, they smell real bad. They claim it’s food. “Smelly beans”. We buy some. Tastes ok.
After about an hour… a 600 year old elven woman comes down. She’s keeping it tight. Two men come down with her, one sweats a lot? Truesight: 5th and 6th level. She’s 17th level of the book, and max sword attack ranks. To Al, she has the long legs of the Longrunner clan. Means she’s probably from Alfheim. She’s wearing platemail.
“So where is this throbbing eggplant?” laughs, what are you??
“Why don’t you come inside”…
We say: High Magistry Slippery Peach! We swear we will not disappoint!
Up the steps to the second floor, she has half the rooms, so like a 5-6 room suite.
Takes off some of her platemail, wearing just a little tunic underneath. She’s super sexy. Like epic wish cranked it up.
Chit chat about Muus. She wants to know where we’re from, how we got here. We’re from Two Continents. Claim the other two are from Tortoise Back. She arranges for us to stay here. We ask if she has a magic user connection she can hook us up with. Has some ideas, but she doesn’t know them well enough. Suggests that a woman mage would be a good thing they would want to know about.
She leaves. We will be staying on the 3rd floor. She says we can meet up again.
We meet a guide to go look at magic shops.
The first one has normal stuff in the front, and Oconomom crystal weapons in the back. There’s lots of lie detection objects. Lamp of lie detection. 300,000. Efrim talks him down to 200k. Al buys it. It is fueled with lamp fuel and it burns a white light. When someone lies, the lamp flickers and the light turns yellow on the liar.
He also has a +5/+10 vs. enchanted creatures normal sword. Efrim and Al talk him down to about 390k gold. Al buys it. Efrim buys some raw material.
Back at the hotel, SP comes back in, has sex with Carrock, and then we start talking…
She talks freely of being from the Prime. We talk about where we have been getting here, and then talk about the metallic realms. She mentions the winter kingdom… says the somnolya empire started separating about 100 years ago.
Efrim directs the convo to undead, they fight each other. Back in the continents they seem to be unified. Mentions liberated undead. Says she’s heard of it. Says they have personalities. Doesn’t follow the realms though. Some gods came, taught the undead to think for themselves. “Auburn sisters?” no that’s older, this is more recent.
You’re interested in the metallic realms? I find them depressing.
We talk around it, try to find out what she knows, she doesn’t know more than we do.
Earth glide vest? She says hire a guide and have them look.
Concerns? The civil war. The king she is loyal to isn’t the one from this town, she’s loyal to the king in the south. But she’s protected by that general.
She says the various kings battling were sworn blood brothers that joined to fight the orange vest movement. By the time that was done, they were all so powerful that none would give up their power. The king they were serving went from place to place, kind of hiding, until the cannibal king just had him killed.
We talk magic items, a little artifacts, she says she’ll introduce us to people
Talk about Mealidan and Isundle. She says they don’t care about me. I became an orphan a long time ago, I’ve learned to live with it.
Gods? Great Silver Well gods don’t side with one nation over another, unlike the ethereal realm gods. They are hands off their worshippers. But what is beyond the pale? Human sacrifice. Surprised they have let the war go on for so long. Expect that they will find some way to neutrally settle it without being perceived as taking a side. Plane was ruled by a triumvirate: Preethim, Sprmigth, and Mangit.
Back then, it was peaceful. Human, Giant, and Mountain Gnomes coexisted. When it was down to just two, the lesser gods started competing and creating factions.
We agree to meet back up in a week, and we’ll travel south to meet her contacts there.
…
We make our petition gift and head off to meet with Hailik in the End of the World Mountains at his Shrine. There is a path, and tests to complete along the way.
We land on the shore of the end of the world mountains. A mile and a half from the nearest colossi statue. It’s in the shape of a living colossi. There is a similar one on the silver realm.
*It’s often said here the Watcher Colossi were forged and put up by Bronze Hands god (Preethim).
We pass by the border. No more teleporting. It’s more dangerous. Giant birds pass by.
Lakshmi has up: Detect Magic and Detect Evil, all the time. Most of the trip to the shrine is in the lowlands, but there is a high mountain pass at the beginning. As we go through the pass… graffiti on the wall, or a drawing.. depiction in black charcoal and white chalk. It’s a man with bags and chains hanging off of him. He’s facing away. Then L sees a large invisible eyeball floating above. We look thoughtfully at the art, and then proceed. Efrim tries to tie items to himself. The rest of us do too. Still in the pass “kill zone”.
Wisdom check! Arrows flying toward us from behind a mountain wall! Save vs spells! We all save. They are illusions. They hit is in critical spots, but then disappear. Then we hear people shouting. None but Efrim understands. Celebratory singing. Like victory for their side. We sing back, and the singing fades.
We see the “unencumbered man” in other places, showing we are on the right path.
Efrim unloads his “mental baggage” as we walk.
We come out of the mountains down to the trail along the shore of the lake. Sometimes we see large fish jumping. Haven’t see the invisible eye for a while.
The ground is a very spongey texture – not sand or soil. We walk for about an hour.
Efrim sees in the spongey material a ruby in the soil! Using the dagger, he detects it IS a ruby, and many more gems. There are gems scattered all over the soil. Our footprints behind us are perfectly preserved. We ignore the gems.
As we walk, there are increasingly more gems. Per Lakshmi, they detect evil.
Truesight? The Gems in the soil below have hit dice. Some of them. The Ruby has 26 HD.
Up ahead, we get to a clearing, and every couple of feet there are more gems in the soil. Every foot. 20-30 HD. Al steps on one, nothing happens.
Vellium steps into the clearing, and the soil ahead starts to rise. It raises 12 feet in the air. An anatomically correct naked version of Efrim takes form – as Efrim appears normally, not dragon-formed. 30 HD.
It winds up to attack. Efrim meets it in battle. E goes first. Does a bunch of summersaults, reaches out to touch it, and then uses Gentle Touch, says “Praise Hailik”, taps it, and kills it. It collapses into clay soil and gemstones. They stop detecting magic when it is killed. Vellium is buried up to his knees in soil.
Lakshmi is next up. A form rises up, naked correct sandy version of Lakshmi. She turns invisible as it goes to attack. Rounds pass, she is beating it up pretty good. Adds a Haste to get two attacks per round. It lands a punch on her, and the fist hitting her inflicted a Power Word Blind, which didn’t take effect (too many hit points for L).
Carrock is up next…
He steps forward, and a form materializes as a 12’ tall faenare golem, and initiates the battle.
Al wins.
We make it to the cave. Inside, there is an old man looking at a book. “Do you wish a story? All four of you? Good! Take a seat!” in front of him is a bench of petrified, stoney wood. We go sit down. He turns the page, and reads. …
The story… our eyes drift, and we get sleepy. They ha
Everyone fails a save except for Al.
He tells the story of a family, a successful one. Very good storyteller. Everyone hears a different version. Lakshmi hears a version about a wife. The males are all a husband with three wives. We see ourselves in the story. Down the road is a family with many children. Great kids, scholars, you’d be proud of them. It’s a year of famine! Floods! Food is scarce! Our farm is safe while others suffer. Other families run out of food….
While the story is being told… Those who failed their saves are dreaming the whole story with them at the center.
There is a talented neighboring family with lots of kids that you could feed, or you could feed your own family. “Some say, the wise man values all lives equally. … what shall you do? Feed the more talented family?” Those that are in the dream agonize over the decision.
Efrim: The other family has more children. Go to them, tell them to choose which children. (they have younger children, so you can save more children with the same amount of food). Efrim chooses to have both families shoulder the burden.
Carrock: Wants the most people to survive. To feed the youngest children is to have the most people survive, feeds most of them, plus some adults. Divides food across the two families to save the most children/people.
Lakshmi: Yeah some of Carrock’s.
Al: my family is going to live…
Points at Al: He has chosen.
Points to Efrim: He has chosen.
When it’s done, he points at Al. Says, “He may continue”. He gets up and leads Al to the back of the cave. A copy of him stays with the book.
Takes Al back to a huge chamber in the mountain. Archways that don’t lead anywhere. Archways on top of those. Text about good health everywhere.
On the center of the dais is a giant stone lantern. There are entrances. Due South, on the cardinal directions. Chambers separated by crystals. En
“Here you have a choice. Enter and it will change you permanently.”
South: purified, lose 3 HP, gain 1 WIS
Permanently blind, gain 3 wisdom
Lost 1 con, gain 2 wisdom
Northwest: Lose 10 years, gain 3 wisdom
Gain 3 strength, lose 2 wisdom.
Al goes in Northwest. Lens closes. Storyteller goes behind the lantern, and the wall opens, he appears to be trying to light something. He finally succeeds, and the light in the lantern lights up, “Close your eyes!” Intense heat, light seeps through eyes anyway. The pain subsides.. the door opens, and Al comes. Note: lifespan is 10 years less, and gained 3 wisdom.
“Are you ready to meet him?”
We go back out from the lantern room, he opens a secret door, go through a tunnel, follow that path, not the original one.
Steps carved into the rock going up to the lake, take the side entrance, going up the ridge on a subtle path. Efrim catches up, give him the gift. “AL! You forgot this! Don’t F this up.”
The Shrine is four chambers. There are cushions on the floor. It’s 40 feet high. There’s a statue 20 feet high, dressed like Solemmite, bushy hair, waist wrap.
Al stands and waits. Distant thunder, there is a ring of light in the sky, and a big figure comes down from the sky. He lands at the main entrance, and struts in while Al is supplicating, presenting the gift.
He looks like the statue, but his hair is salt and pepper. “Introduce yourself and have a seat”. He takes the gift.
Al and the god talk politics. He asks us to stay in the reserve, and meet back in a week. Al explains that his companions have closer relationships with the inner planes gods, so I don’t want to speak for them.
He puts out wine, and Al drinks it. Al feels super relaxed, but no charisma bump.
*Side note, the servitor tells us that Hailik emphatically rejects the Metternalite view of doing the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
Immortal eye to the other side of the plane at sunset… the sun is just rising. The eye is up the sky. Blue skies… the ground is “egg textured” but black. Closer up, it’s actually hilly and rough. It’s just empty land.
Sending the eye higher, it’s an oval bowl, oblong. Looks even more blackened in the middle than in the middle. Where the sun is going around the edge, the sun is blackening the dirt.
New eye at the very northern edge of the plane. Not blackened, milky white. See something! Zoom to it. It’s Pennant shaped, made of copper, with an inscription, lying flat on the ground. It’s decayed and I can’t read it. There should be a tree sized flag pole that is missing.
Al teleports there, and drops an ear of corn. Carrock comes through the corn. The surface is white and gray, but it’s not snow.
There’s no air, tremendous wind. Carrock cast Control Weather to slow the wind. We approach the object, and Repair Object. See the Inscription. It’s all stylized, no words. See a snowy mountain, see a wolf with jaws open. Carrock casts Detect Danger. Al casts Lore. It’s the “Clan Crest” of the “Snow Wolf Clan”.
Carrock looks around. Sees fragments of objects, like a giant sized axe head. No plant life.
We head back.
Recharge artifacts, send another eye to the southern edge. Milky white, not burned. No objects visible.
Then we try another tact. We delve through the realms down to the bronze. There is a 16 mile wall there made out of the same material the bronze forger’s palace is made of.
Carrock does FTP on the bronze to an aqueduct. Lakshmi goes with him. After a long time of earth gliding, they find one. It’s smaller than what we found before. It’s a trickle of amber. It flows to the east.
We step out into a tunnel, in the bronze. We’re all together now. We travel into the GOLD. Al casts Immortal Eye and says that he tries to land it in Ostbruck, but he’s actually targeting Druida’s bedroom. The eye is successful. The eye finds Korkorin on the can. Druida is busy running things. Tian Shi is practicing archery.
Al casts Communication and talks to Vie Sundernash. We catch up, and Al acts as the intermediary for her and Lakshmi.
Al casts Communication again and opens a line to Druida. Talks for a bit, then channels for her and Efrim. They talk business, and have some heart to heart.
Al casts Immortal Eye to Citadel and communicates with Forrestonar in a dream. Turns into Carrock and lets them update each other. Does it again to the Godlands, and is successful, can look around into what’s going on there.
We leave the gold to recharge, and then come back.
Immortal Eye to the edge of the plan on the gold by where we saw the pennant sign, and Al sends it up to the sky and tries to find the boundary of the material realm. Beyond is a great cloudy mass of amber netting. Like a massive bramble of amber. No change.
Al puts an eye in the glowing rocks in the center of the plane, toward the edge. At the end of the plane, they glow intensely, and then it stops, and I’m in open space.
Go to the surface of the prime. Netting everywhere. There are sinkholes in the natural gold terrain, and the netting continues in those. Sending the eye down looking for a glowing band. Lower and lower, the rocks to glow intensely, and then fade to dark. It’s not the same exactly, the Prime is a solar system not a bowl.
In a week we return to the shrine to meet with the god. Hiallik.
We go up to the shrine room, and sit on the cushions and wait. Watching the statue. All of the sudden, we feel the presence of a divine spirit. Carrock fails and is paralyzed with awe. A BOOMING VOICE is in our head!
“I have returned! Please relax.” He releases Carrock. A fancy cup of wine appears next to us. We don’t see him, but we feel the presence and hear the voice.
Long pause.
Efrim yells out “I choose my family!”
“This may be a historic moment. I have spoken with the Silver gods. The great gods, as you can imagine, they would not have survived if they had any tolerance for risk. Vexing thorny problems in the ethereal. But I will be candid. For me it is a cause worth risking everything I have. And for me, they have granted a neutrality. They promise not to utter a peep about this plot to the Dark One, but if there is any problem, they will throw all of us to the lions. You understand what I am saying about the great gods and their position? You understand what I am saying about my position? Let me explain.”
We already know about the dark one here, and in one other place.
Here’s my plan:
Overthrow on Ethereal
Overthrow on Great Silver Well
We reach out to the powers of Emmes-Home, and overthrow him there.
L: The gods believe he is “cheating” on the rules they have in place. We have an artifact from our ethereal god allies, which we have been asked to place.
Al: if we can prove he is cheating, the gods will unite against him.
Hiallik gives us info: I am 19 and 20 sure that he is worshipped under the name Mo-aokkon in Emmes-Home.
Mo-aokkon is a newer god there.
“You think he is cheating? I have no idea what that would mean to your gods there, so I would need to learn more.”
Lakshmi explains what we think is a follower cheat. He has no temples or followers in the inner planes. And yet he is the hierarch, one of the most powerful of all the gods.
“He is powerful beyond explanation?”
The gold realm is not the source of souls, it’s just closer to the source. There is a deeper realm still. The soul pieces go down in the realm sense, but they are just disappearing into the realm below. There they reach the source, and the source reaches everywhere.
Cheats? That is a mystery.
L: He was a much normal god 300 years ago until he came here.
Him: I know what is going on in the brass, bronze, and the gold. Gold is vast, could be something hidden there, but not off hand…
If he’s based in the god that already gives him a great deal of power. He must reside in the gold realm. If he gives spells to his followers in Emmes-Home, and in the inner planes, that’s the only explanation.
L: We met the semughuls that are serving him. They seem to be living there?
Natives of emmes-home can live forever there. Perhaps he’s been investigating them and learning to emulate their abilities.
You think if you solve the mystery that shows that he is cheating, what? It will trigger some punitive measure in the ethereal planes?
If the gods know he is cheating, he would be stripped of his status, and that would cause them to have to punish or renegotiate.
How could he have made it his home plane?
-He doesn’t need to make it his home plane, he could have a spell granting avatar parked there.
Al: could he have just created a Semughul avatar? Yes, but they aren’t that smart.
Some have reported that netting on the gold has been cleared recently on other planes.
Do you mind revealing which planes?
YES!
1. 13-275 (upper right corner from GSW)
2. 17-269
3. And one much further out, the Great Clod.
13-275 was liberated long ago, and lots of the planes around here were. Liberation spread. “Some of the early liberated made sure of it.”
L: you know about the Scribal Estate? We were able to fully access the memories of two of them. I’m happy to relay anything to you that they might have known. For example, we know two of the avatars, the trokklan, and abithir, the weak chinned ordinary man.
“I confess I did not know that. So Abithir was the avatar of the dark one. Abithir I have heard of.”
Let’s think. What is the best way to put a stop to him permanently? So there is no threat of backlash.
I have thought for a while that a three pronged attack where he is prominent would be good. I’ve plotted to see if the emmes-home gods can be convinced to join. But you’re saying it would not be enough to convince the ethereal gods that he is a major threat. You propose that three-pronged attack is long term, and evidence is best short term plan?
L: I think if we can turn the wheels of bureaucracy against him, if we can reveal and remove the source of cheating.
Would it be cheating if he was occupying the gold realm and using it as a source?
Historically gods go from the GSW and go to the ethereal, they don’t go the other way, coming from the inner out here. Except some adventurer god.
*Do we fill him in?
We look at Carrock…
A group of people came through here, spoke with your people. They were seeking a dryanon, and disappeared into it, and into the gold realm…
“I remember hearing about this tribe. They were looking for Liefra. I didn’t know they were followed by a dryanon. So they were looking for a way into the gold realm.”
They thought that might be a way of contacting her, or joining her. This was suspiciously aligned with the time that Abithir fought the golem and got access to the gold realm. Maybe he was chasing them?
We remember what happened on Tortoise Back, talking about how vengeful he might be, or if what the faenare were doing was more closely with what he was doing.
The faenare have that story that when the nameless goddess comes back, she will reveal a truth that will show Thanatos for what he is or something like that. And, Lakshmi points out, in every case T has acted like that is true.
“I can’t imagine that someone from the ethereal plane could take an avatar of an auburn sister.”
What they tell me about Liefra is that she is faded. There is no way she could survive is she wasn’t. If she is faded, she can’t be harmed. That was a mistake on the dark one’s part. He ensured she couldn’t be annihilated.
The shredded netting allows souls to pass through more intact, and therefore undead to exist closer to the source in a higher form. They can freely worship him.
Aqueducts? Why?
The Auburn Sisters built them, and they provide a faster way to travel between planes. Not the auburn sisters travelling, but various creatures that work for them. There are some gates in the tunnels. There is some special power that the auburn sisters figured out. Maybe the dark one did too. He doesn’t know.
We tell him about the spirit from cluster.
We ask about the lettering around the tunnels. Does he know? It’s something the auburn sisters set up so they could know at a glance where the tunnels come from. He hasn’t figured it out, but it’s meant for their navigation.
Is there a way for us mere mortals to test where netting has been removed? Just little bits have been removed, not whole planes. … one way to find out if the netting has been cleared is to see how long a lower level cleric has to recover a soul (via raise dead). If we die here, we would have a long time to be raised, because our souls would have more time to wander without being separated.
*Reincarnate doesn’t recover all of the soul pieces, some are lost forever.
1. one terrifying thought is that he understands the source and can exploit the source and fully dissolved souls.
Another is that he is trapping the souls, they stay in the gold. He might be exploiting the buracracy that the auburn sister created.
It means he can bring followers from emmes-home through the tunnels to the ethereal planes.
If you run into a soul in the tunnels, can you hold it? Make it stay? It depends on the personality. A lot of spells work.
He wants to know what would be considered evidence of the cheat. Clearing netting? Finding a gate between cluster and emmes-home?
Asking about the 300 years ago…
One possibility, leifra and meivrum are not the first gods to turn against him. He killed off other gods that had turned against him. He was far from consolidating power when the two disappeared.
We think he’s killed at least three, could have been more.
*By the time the rebel group became an official sphere, he was the leader.
*HE Gives us Planar Coordinates of Emmes-home
*We realize we can go to Emmes-Home from the gold by teleporting there and travelling up.
More discussion.
In two days, he will WISH the rest of you to have GOLD SIGHT. And he will bring us mortal magic items that do: Travel, Speak with Dead, Earth Glide. Something to detect Apathy of an undead spirit?
*Al presents the Hailik statue with a Thorn hair comb from her homeland, asks if he recognizes it (he does), and presents it as a gift.
Monday Morning – 8/9/2021
**Brainstorming with Hailik about how to proceed, and strategy for tracking spirits to see where they are going, and if Thanatos is somehow syphoning them off or directing them to certain planes where he wants to grow power**
Questions:
Does the Great Clod has all the metallic realms? Yes, all the way to bronze. No gold, except someone recently discovered that the netting in the gold has been cleared there.
What does it mean that a plane that has a bronze realm doesn’t have a gold in theory, but obviously there is a gold realm.
–a bunch of stuff about planes I missed. One has a crashed sun so one island is completely dark—
Great Clod – holes and bellows in the planet? Make noise, great winds? Lots of tunnels. On the surface, lots of species live (trokklans, old stuff). Speculate that it was a project of Sire, the god that is gone… Ka!
Theory: servitor on the gold that does the spell granting? It could be an artifact, like the yanse artifacts but for clerics. Could we find it? You’d have to know which plane to search on for the gold. Ray’s plan: find it and pull it off the gold realm during the three-pronged attack, all of his clerics would lose their spells if it was gone, except those within 12 planes of the actual deity.
We need to have an ethereal immortal who understands the rules of the pantheon to review this and figure out what the rule is that is being broken, so we can focus our research on the right “cheat”.
-Detailed strategy for tracking and following wandering spirits of undead.
-He thinks more, and thinks he really should make an artifact for us that does Detect Immortal Magic. Real expensive though. Would be cheaper to add to an existing artifact. *we quickly make arguments about which artifact is the best candidate for this new power*
Sounds like we are settling on the Anklet of Asterius as the best new home for the new artifact power, which would cost 190 PP. Criteria included artifacts that did not already have a lot of powers, and artifacts that we don’t need to use frequently, because we need to hand it over for at least 1 month to be further enchanted.
Lakshmi confirms which plans have liberated undead, so we can look for planes that have had the gold netting dissolved.
*Brass avengers were originally installed to protect the projects of the auburn sisters. When they left, gods started clearing them out. In some places, such as ramfolk plane, the brass avengers were left in place but modified to allow people allied to dragon causes (Sprmigth).
We meet up with Slippery Peach
We buy two vests of Earth Glide.
We commission an item for Travel, 3/day, from a cleric of Mangit. Cost calculation is around 69k, up for expedite cost, agree to pay $70000. Will take a month (1 week + 1 day per $1000 of base enchantment cost, which was $23,100). … on second thoughts, we don’t buy this from the guy. After Communicating with Diamond Eyes, we agree that we would like to buy her a research lab for clerical items, and then negotiate with this cleric of Mangit to buy his entire research lab right here. We bargain him down from 1 mil to 850,000, and split it four ways. He’s a little sad because he didn’t expect us to take him up on it, but we pack it up into bags of holding, and within a couple of hours we are back down on the Bronze realm at the Diamond Eyes camp setting it up.
Diamond Eyes wasn’t actually that interested in enchanting things, but she does us a favor since we brought her a million dollar research lab. So… she gets busy making a Travel item for us. (She fails the first enchantment roll, and then succeeds on the second).
NEXT UP! Pass a month waiting for Hailik to do enchantments and stuff.
Go to Gold, FTP to a Spirit from the Prime. After wasting a day, we put a distance parameter on the FTP, “within 6 hours travel time”, and such.
After two days, we go back to the Shrine.
We walk up, take cushion seats. Efrim tries again to get in the lantern for the wisdom juice. Hailik makes a third entrance. No sky flash. The avatar walks up the steps. Same guy Al saw before. He’s keeping a lower profile, apparently. “Greetings! We’ve given ourselves so much to think about. Let me attend to the Wish first.” He concentrates. Wish is done. “Anything else, or see you in a month?” The Gold Sight is a spell effect, so it’s dispellable. But it’s immortal, so it would be pretty hard to do. All of the “Sight” effects are all spell effects so they are dispellable. But not Bronze sight, that was a physical change.
Back to tunnel exploration…
One day we find a carved out room around a section of the aqueduct. L looks for secret doors, and finds one! L and E look for traps, don’t find one. The rest of us stand back, and Efrim is going to try to open it. It won’t move. Al steps forward and uses the Tome for its OPEN LOCK power – first time! – I make the roll, and against all odds, there is a clunking sound. We step back and let Efrim push it open.
It’s a sphere shaped room made out of seep stone, but there is a flat wall made out of a black substance. Carved in Archway shape, with text around it: Water Ladder.
To the left and right there are more “heavenly stems”.
Al uses the Tome to Lore: GOLD REALM PORTAL CASING.
Lakshmi imbues intelligence. It was made by a wizard. Many things used it, balls with eyes, giants, spirits.
Last thing to walk through was Semughul.
Many centuries ago, giant women with horns and golden skin put a portal in me, and all they had to do was walk through. They removed the portal. The portal was an object. Describe it? Milky bronze mirror type thing, sized to fit within the portal.
Did any humans ever come through? No. Maybe human souls, no humans.
Al casts Survival on people. Then casts Furtive Gate on the spot. The spell wants to know where we want it to go. Al says “Gemstone desert on Citadel”.
Does it again, specifies “Water Ladder”. Doesn’t work.
Do it again, specifies “Great Clod”. Doesn’t work.
8/9/2021, after the swim
While we were exploring previously, there were other partial spirits that we encountered… We’ll Speak with Dead on anyone we encounter. First day, there are 5.
Standard questions:
What plane did you die on?
What’s the name of your youngest living relative?
What’s the last thing you remember?
Most interesting response: person has one fragment left, not very coherent, but looks possibly inner planes human.. walking aimlessly… when we cast the Spell, it reforms completely. The white soul fragments re-emerge from below. Looks like his clothes are from inner planes, but he says he’s from the Ram Folk plane.
So, if we are seeing people here from planes that we didn’t know the gold netting was fragmented, we add those planes to our list for exploratory research.
Next day, first four souls we see are partial and aimless, and look like they are from this region. On the fifth try, we find a partial, aimless soul, trying to draw on the wall. Al pulls out a piece of chaulk, and mirrors what she is doing, drawing on the wall in the bronze. She’s filling in a hill shaped line, then another one. Then some clouds… when it takes shape, it looks like a farm valley or something. This soul seems pretty intact. We talk about travel to the gold so we can talk to her, when a soul with purpose comes flying down the tunnel. He looks to be wearing chainmail armor. His skin is paper thin. He stops, puts his arm around her, and then they begin flying together.
Team 1: Big Lou and Talo, Gate from the seep stone, must be fully in the stone in order to work.
Team 2: Carrin and Vellum follows them on the bronze to keep up with them.
Al casts Furtive Gate. Carrock starts casting Speak with Dead.
Now we are in the gold. The skeleton-thin guy was escorting her before, but now she is following him. When we emerge, he turns to look at us, and Carrock finishes his spell. The complete form appears before us. He stops and waits, and she does the same.
Where are you going? My path depends on what I encounter along the way. It is everchanging.
Who set you on this path? My master did.
What is the name of your master? He answers in a riddle… it sounds like “twin heads” or something, and doubleness. Efrim, ever the show-off, makes a religion check by 21. Thinks maybe it’s an emmes-home god? Febenok? God of creation from emmes-home? Holy symbol is trident with dual sided fire over it. He has an avatar that is double-faced.
Al uses a ring to Shape Change into a Hag. Tries to control them, it doesn’t work.
We go back through the Gate, and follow them on the bronze side. They fly for four hours down the aqueduct, he crosses paths with 2 more partial souls… have a local regional look to them. Two very elderly eronek looking people. He puts his arm around one and starts leading him. He is talking to him. Invisible, Furtive Gate, we pass through and try to hear what he is saying to them. He starts to say “ones who love you, and whom you love…” then he stops, backs up, and flies down alone without those souls. He seems to be fleeing. He’s fleeing the interview!
Are you talking souls back to emmes-home? My path does not lead to emmes-home, and neither does theirs.
Are there many other souls where you are taking them? Probably
Are you going to tell someone you saw us? Most certainly.
Again:
Will your master know when you are destroyed? Not very likely
Were you taking them outside the silver well boundaries? I don’t really heed boundaries, but not too likely.
Al casts Lore and reaches into him. He’s offended and recoils. Carrock stalls the 3rd question…After 1 turn, the answer comes back: 5 white soul parts, with 1 part unglued originally belonging to Kar Mirth.
What do you tell the spirits to do? It’s an art, it requires a great deal of judgment. There are some things that even partial souls care about. It changes depending on which parts are missing. It’s just persuasion.
Carrock casts Song of the Wake from down in the tunnel the direction it was going. No effect on the spirit. He says “I thought you were going to ask me a question.”
Efrim, “Hey Kar Mirth, wait!” He keeps flying.
Now Carrock casts Speak with Dead again. Now he looks very angry about this.
Were you ever undead, yes or no? “I suppose”.
Do you still exist in another form somewhere else? “That’s very unlikely”
Lakshmi starts dousing him with soul solution, it takes 8 splashes. He looks like he’s being tortured. His soul pieces are being held here with the questioning, even as it’s being eviscerated.
What’s the best place to go so your master can get vengeance on us. “I have no idea”
Lakshmi gains a new nickname, Carinn the Soul Destroyer.
FTP to where there are there are more than 10 souls gathered, within 6 hours flight of here. No result.
FTP: nearest Gold Realm Portal within 6 hours of here. No result.
After dissolving the guy, the other souls start to wander again. L tries to TK one into the goo, and she resists. Tries again, and she resists again.
Back to the bronze.
Go to the camp. Al sits in front of a camp fire, starts working on a bottle of whisky, and drives an immortal eye down the aqueduct looking for oddities in the gold realm. He takes a break after 8 hours.
Comes across a natural tunnel that is sealed with normal stone. Sends the eye through the seal, goes down steeply (most would go up). The tunnel enters into a large room with pillars, 75 by 75 feet. Al moves the eye into the stone wall and skirts the perimeter. There are rooms in three other sides, with the black milky archway walls. Nothing appears to be in the “casing”. Using Efrim’s helm of reading, on the far side, there are words over the top of the portal: LILTING LYRE
Second: CROWDED SKIES
Third: The SHELL OF A TORTOISE
Lakshmi makes a planar lore check, the only clue that makes any sense is Tortoise Back.
More campfire business, we ask Carrock to shape Al’s seep stone blank into a functioning sword. Efrim helps with the wish wording. It works! Al now has a sword shaped seep stone with a sharp edge.
Al seeks out a low level priest of Hailik and asks him to teach him Honor Hailik. The rituals suggest he is much more excited about psychic health than bodily health. His trainer/therapist is a youngish nosferatu that wants to help Al work through some things, and also drink some wine.
Lakshmi prays to Serram and relays our major news about our new ally, and his concerns about not knowing who his partner is, and his wishes to remain anonymous.
Next Day
Back down to the gold, [see Anil’s notes]. … Al goes into the Portal Room for Tortoise Back, casts Furtive Gate in the spot on the wall, and tries to open a gate to Tortoise Back, looking for the rift gate. It opens. We find ourselves looking out into bronze netting on a surface that looks very similar to tortoise back, but on the bronze. There is netting across the gate portal. Desolate landscape. Al tosses a small piece of chustra through the portal to the other side. It passes through the net like it’s not there, but droplets attach to it. We let the gate close and go back to the aqueduct. FTP to a group of souls. Carrock continues. WE go to bronze, go three hours, and then go again to the gold and try again. Continues in the same direction. Back and forth trying to stay out of the gold,
Al activates the Tome of Elish to make a map of what we are doing.
We pass a spirit of an old woman, alone and scared, but we keep going.
On the 4th FTP try, Carrock starts heading back the other way. We go back on the bronze side, looking for a special branch off. Then pop back in to gold, and reverse direction. 20 minutes, then there is a side tunnel that turns off. There doesn’t seem to be anything special, but carrock turns and we follow this natural tunnel. It goes downward, so there’s no water in it. It’s downward, but feels like it starts to corkscrew. Like a night crawler hole. We come around a bend (invisible), and find 18 dual planar horns, which is 3 semughul. Bits of their skin are torn away, we see amber churning under their flesh. One is much larger than the others, missing an eye. The tunnel continues and then is blocked by a wall of seep stone. The big one is carrying a trident that detects immortal magic. They detect as 58, 50 and 50 HD.
We back up. Way up.
Al creates the Eye, and sends it in a wide berth through the wall around the creatures, headed to see what is on the other side of that seep stone wall. Enters. Large 120’ round room, 60’ tall. Pillars line the walls. The walls are all seep stone (no earth glide). There are approximately 5 dozen partial souls, looking aimless. Gnomes, gnolls, humans, humanoid. Beautiful statues in the room of human men and women, gnolls, gnomes, grandma and grandpa. The room is lit by the dim light of the white souls. Sweeping the room, the natural tunnel continues on the other side. No bad guys on that side. The passage way is open. There is one soul in the room that doesn’t look aimless. A Soemm woman. Mid-30’s? She’s scrutinizing them, talking to them. The room has a pool, made with the gold filigree, but there is no amber here at all.
Sending the eye down the tunnel on the other side… Just short of an hour it bottoms out and there is amber fluid pooling there and seeping into the floor below. Dead end. Stone is saturated with amber, but it’s really a dead end.
Go back to the room, confirm that the seep stone is actually a door, with a lock.
We retreat, Al tries to maintain the eye, and we pass plants back to camp. Al parks the immortal eye in the head of one of the giants, and checks on it every so often to see if something happens.
[see Anil’s notes for detective work]
Taking a break from surveilling the special room, we try to find the body of the spirit guide that we “rescued”, Kar Mirth. Working our way up to the material plane in GSW, we get a hit with FTP, then we transport to a different continent to triangulate. The location appears to be in the ocean. Immortal Eye up in the sky over that location, and there is an island there. Relatively small, 15 miles long. We Transport via Plant to get there, and Carrock continues on the Path.
He heads inland, finds a clearing in the trees, and starts earth gliding. Finds a coffin. Decayed, absorbing the elements. Looking around, there are other coffins. Seven total. Most are filled with sailor paraphernalia. We dig everything up. Carrock casts Speak with Dead.
(find a holy symbol of Ge-lieiter, the demi-god of navigation on the plane)
How did you die? (same guy appears). He says “You again?” to Carrock.
“Yes, hello again. we’ve tracked down your body and wanted to have a chat.” Said Carrock.
“Three of us were headed north through the … sea. We thought we were assailed by pirates, but they were undead archers. Next thing I know, I was visited here at my gravesite, and so were my dead fellows.”
Do you remember your master in the afterlife, can you tell us that answer again? He tries to recite a riddle again. “Six forms of a male goat…..”
Who is your present master? “I have no master any longer, thanks to you. Now let me have my peace.”
Speak #2
Is there any message to anyone who is living that you would want us to send? “My people are all long gone. I suppose you could check on my niece .. and see if she is married and ok.”
Would you want the remains of you and your fellow sailors moved? “My religious … I don’t see how you could do that. …See to it that my comrades are buried properly.”
Where do you take the souls when you get enough of them? “The masters saw a lot of potential, I had more mental fortitude than most. I went looking for lost souls, and brought them to the nearest gathering place.”
Speak #3
When you say “There’s people that still care about you. Let’s find a solution”, why do you say that? “ I don’t always speak thus, but in the state they are in, they don’t care about self-interest, but sometimes you can appeal to love.”
What happens after to the group of souls you’ve gathered? “That’s not my job, I assume they move on eventually. “
Who’s job is it? “I can’t answer with confidence. But I think a group Festitalls is responsible for the next stage”.
Carrock remembers a passage from, “Is that a beholder? Look again!” Of all those candidates, most or less powerful than a beholder. Festitall – doesn’t have stalks, the eyes are embedded in the sphere body. They have magical tentacles that most people can’t see, and can cast lots of spells. AVOID!
Lakshmi intends to stay true to her word, and deliver gold to the niece. She’s in Solomnolya and is still alive. She’s 6th of seven wives. Husband is dead. She has several children. She’s happy to have the 1,000 gold for her children. Carrock also checks to see if any Cure Diseases are needed…
We also find a temple of Ge-leieter to have the bodies of the sailors reburied.
Week 2
Note to drop off for Hailik at the temple. Request for info on xyz.
Al scry the gold under the prime looking for holes in the netting.
Arch of the Spirit location, foundations of the artifact down to the ground – There is amber rain, and open skies. Clouds of netting. There is a hole in the netting half a mile across.
At Ocalea, Eyenmar’s palace – looks to be all netted. There is one courtyard where the netting is clear. It’s a very large courtyard, like 2 blocks by 2 blocks. There is a sinkhole in the courtyard. Eye goes through, and below there are 4 spirits, intact, standing and waiting. There is a natural tunnel, it goes for about 30 minutes and then runs into netting, crossed 2 others, one of them had the netting cleared. Eye follows the main one for an hour.
Eye back in the holding room – no changes.
Lakshmi is visited in a dream by Serram. They talk a lot about slowing our roll to coordinate with gods, and about the witness clasp.
Week 3:
We buy 3 haste potions, 2000 total
Check the room. Souls keep accumulating. There are about 72 souls by now. On the 27th of Vatermont, the door is open… guards are outside talking. The wrangler and minder in the main room are ushering the souls out, and they are fussing over some stubborn hold outs. Moving eye into the wall to look into the outer corridor. See a crowd of fleshy spheres with pale veins, eyes embedded in the skin. They are spread out every 10 feet or so. As the souls get closer to the spheres, the souls disappear. One of the sphere creatures come into the room, and then the elf souls disappear. . Drop the eye, recast on the bronze. It’s empty except the floating horns. Can still see the spheres, but they are only on the gold. The minders keep some distance, but they don’t get sucked in. Fleshy balls detect in levels: 17-36th level. There are about 20! The souls seemed to be distributed evenly. They go up the tunnel for a little bit, then stop. Then, over the next 10 seconds, they all blink out.
We hatch a quick plan to enter at the back of the dead end tunnel and send in Efrim while the room is empty to place the Witness Clasp. We power up, and send him in. He moves silently, hiding in shadows. Carrock wished him Invisible to Undead and he passes through our open Furtive Gate and creeps up into the room with all the painted statues. 60’ from the undead semughuls and the minder. He can hear them speaking a language he hasn’t heard, but understands it. He holds the witness clasp up and whispers “Immortals Behold”. It can see the whole room, and down the hallway. HE FEELS A SURGE OF POWER. One of the semeghuls turns around. He is hasted. And uses the Luck potion. Efrim goes on 8. He disappears. Al watches through the eye. The monster looks for quite a while. So does another one. Finally the trident guy looks, and then remembers to shut the door. Efrim jogs down the natural corridor. Al hears some arguing, and the big semughul comes into the room and starts poking around. The trident eye looks around, and then climbs back up the stairs, and shuts the door. We make our escape.
Based on the previous round, the evidence captured by the witness clasp might be complete in 100 days.
The next day we reconvene with Hailik. We pop up from the lower realms so we’re not seen outside at all. We stop with the storyteller and chat. He’s looking at his book. “Who’s hand did I see?” “Mine,” says Efrim. “Oh, it’s very pretty.”
We climb up to the shrine. Hailik walks in, avatar form. He offers us tea. We sit on cushions, he creates a chair and sits.
We tell him about placing the witness clasp, and the holes in the netting over by the prime.
He says he urges caution and moving slowly.
He says Emmes-Home is moving, but slowly by comparison.
He gives Efrim his anklet back. I’ve been focusing on enhancing the power of this artifact, and on contacting the gods of emmes-home.
“We rise together we fall together. We live together we die together.”
– Hailik, End of the World Mountains, Great Silver Well
27 Vatermont 1037
He brings us in for a Go Team huddle!
[Send questions for Hailik to Justin!]
What song was taught in the Diamond Eyes camp?
The Song of Inspiration. It teaches why you have reason for faith even when the evidence suggests otherwise.
So, up next. He suggests that we stay in regular communication to make sure he hasn’t been… found out and destroyed. Al offers to cast Communicate once per week to ensure he is still alive and well. If there is no response, launch attack asap before we are all wiped out.
Things to do when we launch the big attack:
Attack on the bronze and wipe out undead.
Disrupt communication and infrastructure on the gold.
Remember the language that the shepherds are using to recruit lost souls. He agrees that it is pure evil, the way they are working, but that’s not from the language of liberation.
The undead that exist in the gold realm, it seems only possible that they could endure as much as they do because of the concentration taught with the language of liberation.
[THE END]
