Artifacts (especially lesser ones) that have attack, healing or movement spells

  • Menki finds two owners of artifacts that are willing to sell:
  1. The Claw Sceptre of the Ancient Tyrant: Grants mass effects conducive to leadership. Originally paired with an orange orb that allowed user to breath fire and enhance magic, but the orb was separated from the Claw Sceptre centuries ago. Owned by Gaoul-lak Dregnith (F21), brother to one of the most powerful merchant-princes. He will sell for 49 (bargained down to 45) million gp.  Luta — great leader who overthrew the Bronze Dragon, and added his claw to her scepter to remind everyone of the achievement.  Split by a future owner, the orb was taken by someone into the tower of Lut-Hoff.  Major Artifact
    1. Greater artifact
    2. Power points: 400
    3. Regerates 20 TP per turn, 120 TP per hour
    4. Powers
      1. ESP (25 TP)
      2. Dispel Magic (55 TP)
      3. +3 Charisma (6 turns, 60 TP)
      4. Mass Charm (75 TP)
      5. Word of Recall (90 TP)
      6. Control Dragons (95 TP)
    5. Handicaps
      1. Apathy
    6. Penalties
  2. The Sand Bowl of Incarnations: grants the power to speak with dead and tap into the memories of constructs. Users of the Sand Bowl have often gone insane. Talk to inanimate objects.  Currently owned by Muus (short for Muustanaranoki), a high-priest of Mangit god of creativity and artifice (C36), originally from the Great Silver Well. Muus will sell the Sand Bowl for 35 (bargained to 33 million) million gp.  Cloaking spell on it so it doesn’t detect as immortal level magic.
    1. Lesser artifact
    2. Power points: 340
    3. Regenerates 10 TP per turn,  60 TP per hour
    4. Powers
      1. Detect New Construction (range 60’, duration 36 turns, 10 TP)
      2. Speak with the Dead (25 TP)

      4. Bowl Communication (duration: 6 turns, can communicate with any and all owners of other Sand Bowl artifacts within 10 planes, 60 TP)
      5. Protection from Magical Detection (the user and all items that he/she carries cannot be detected by magical means, and will not glow in response to the Detect Magic spell, 6 turns, 85 TP)
      6. Enhance Psyche (duration: 6 turns, one target within 40’ range, +3 intelligence and wisdom, grants temporary sentience to otherwise insentient things, 100 TP)
    5. Handicaps
      1. Androgynous Milhatha: user starts to resemble an androgynous strain of the ancient milhatha (very tall and lanky humanoids with beak noses), thereby eliminating sexual attraction and attractiveness.
      2. Constant Distraction: artificial constructions (tables, chairs, walls, tools…) frequently squeal, shout, or sob. Only the owner of the Bowl can hear it.
    6. Penalties
      1. Obsession: user becomes obsessed with exterminating any and all followers of Dryone (an ancient goddess of moons, autumn, and storage), or the nearest living equivalent.
      2. Gullibility: the user becomes convinced for three months of the next lie told to him/her.
      3. Permanent insanity (only possible when enhancing psyche or recalling construct memories): equivalent to feeblemind effect, permanent unless dispelled or cured by immortal-level spell.

Low Priority:

Weird droppings from Exalted creatures/entities like Bacca plates and stuff like that to add to our Exalted Creature Lore.

    1. A wealthy salt trader claims to have a toenail of a living colossus called Eeraim Black Diamond. Menkie’s agent is able to confirm that he’s not deceiving, but the agent can’t confirm that the story is actually true. (In other words, the salt trader really believes the story and believes he’s reporting it honestly, but he might be nuts, or might have been duped into believing a false story when he bought it). (845gp)  ITS LEGIT!!!
      1 toe nail – Efrim
    2. The Mutak clan has long kept the bracelets of an ancient goddess of the original living colossi population (giants back before they started transforming their flesh into minerals). The goddess was supposedly named Berethie the Soaring Driver (as in, a driver of a chariot). They have passed down seven bracelets from one generation to the next. One clan elder is willing to part with her bracelet for 1,736,000gp. It detects immortal magic but everyone seems to think that’s just because it has immortal preservation on it. Actually a minor artifact: imparts lower armor class and bonus to hit rolls on spears and arrows.  –does anyone other than Al use a spear or bow?
  • Bracelet of the Charioteeress
      1. Minor artifact
      2. Power Points: 100

      3. Powers:
        1. Attack roll bonus +3 (1 turn, 30 TP)
        2. Spear and arrow attacks do double damage (1 turn, 40 TP)
        3. Armor class bonus -1 (12 hours, 30 TP)
      4. Handicap: -1 penalty on all savings throws
      5. Penalty: enters the silver realm and is unable to leave for 24 hours

Notes:

Epic Wish:

  • Great Diamond enables 10th level spells: Epic Wish, Great Harvest, Something Pestilence (Rain of Corruption).

Menkie invites us to her estate. Tu-affa on peninsula between two rivers.  One is moving, the other is still (the great mirror, which looks like a lake). Ferries cross the great mirror.  Ruled by mercantile council.  Ancient pyramid like structure — this is actually closely packed towers.  Central area has the highest towers — all abandoned.  One is made of chiustra, called the Lut-hoff.  No one can enter this one without permission from one of the living colossi; Gerrefenna the Daunting (a chieftain of the living colossi).  The merchants all live in the other “rings” of the pyramid.  But Menkie lives on manor in a very poor neighborhood.  Acqueducts conduct spring water into the rooms.  One entrance to the area is a road with guards down it — weather a feather and dripping dagger sigil of Menkie’s clan.  Her manor has fresh water conducted over the top of the neighborhood and dumping poop out on them.

  • Denna-kan, mid-70’s.
12th level disk mage.  Comes from summer point, the oldest city.  Another Chiustra tower in the little town across the river — has a pit that used to be bottomless, but is closed up.  Oldest section was built when living colossi were just beginning to figure out the materials (they also made the disks).  The middle layer was made by giants, then the outer ring was made by humans.  Colossi are possessive and territorial about the central regions, plenty of constructs.  Middle layer was built during the era of the Auburn Sisters; they presided over a time of relative peace.  Places of worship of Auburn Sisters — some towers, but some have been repurposed. Lut-hoff was originally a shrine to Tuta, Goodness of (Earned) Luck and Fame.  A goddess from the diskmaker era.  Berethie the Soaring Driver has a temple in the district; has been repurposed.  Eeraim Black Diamond was a talkative friendly colossi, known for generosity and who hasn’t been seen in centuries.  Muus, high priest of Mangit is from great silver well, came here to explore the pyramids.  Mangit asked him to do this.  Living Colossi leave a statue in front of buildings that they claim and want to defend.  Lut-hoff is accessible only to those permitted by Gerrefenna not because she claims it, but because a god gave her sole access control to it (it is immortally impassed).   Tuta slew the great bronze forger.
  • The disk we need for Epic Wish is lashed to the Summerpoint — Pontus, his girlfriend is Soia C27 cleric of Mangit.  Muus is her ex-boyfriend.  Rhoda – MU33 disk-mage, responsible for “lashing” Great Diamond to Summerpoint.
150,000gp.  With luck potions we end up getting 5 mages to cast epic wish for two months.  Lakshmi, Al, and Carrock all successfully wished to remove handicaps from owning artifacts, and reduce chance of penalties by … 60%?  Efrim successfully wished to become a master of the VOULGE! Wished again to become Grandmaster. Right? – Correct! -clay
  • Staeynthuur
 — most spectacular city on the plane.  Mutak clan.  Fertility problems a couple generations back.  We bought the bracelet, turns out it’s a real artifact.  Efrim made a fake bracelet for them to display.  They don’t want people to know they sold the artifact.
  • Still need to resolve 3 epic wishes
  • Raiding
