Planes of Existence

Forbidden Planes

On these planes Immortal intervention is forbidden, thus allowing us mortals to go there freely without fear of immortal attack. In addition, these planes have their own ethereal planes.

  •  Arcadian-We have a map of a Node on Mt. Korpha I can’t figure out what this one is. Most likely it refers to a plane I have in my notes but I didn’t give you the correct name at the time (after all, it’s not as if there’s a signpost at every node). Is this perhaps the home plane of the Hex (the phase-spiders)?
  • Citadel-GEMSTONE DESERT-? Jade Tower Again, this is just a descriptive term I used when the party peeked in at a plane and not the plane’s real name. A brief dicussion with any member of the Timberthorn party will reveal that the gemstone desert is just a unique geographical feature within a larger plane called “Citadel.” It used to be connected to the Prime through the Jade Towers. Of all the planes the Timberthorn party explored, they know the least about this one. They once met some merchants there who claims the plane’s sun is kept in a gargantuan black tower and only released at the whim of the tower’s owners, but maybe they were insane.
  • Cluster – this plane was taken over by Alphatian mages fleeing the prime. It is home to one of the finest research libraries and many powerful mages.
  • Cossa- Plane of Vines, Cossa is sometimes called the “New Prime” because, aside from its notoriously active plantlife, its ecosystem and distribution of races and organisms most closely resembles the Prime. And since it was never given a second moon during the Cataclysm, humans still flourish there.
  • The Cradle- The plane is split into two layers: A sunny but rather uncivilzed topside and a dark underside.
  • Deanam-The Great Organism. Where did you hear about this one? I can’t believe I ever told anyone about it. All the planar specialist knows is that the plane is made up of a lot of air and just a few floating islands. Some book claims that the islands are alive. Apparently people ride blue dragons to get from one island to another, but all of this is from uncertain sources.
  • Fell – Clan perfected golems Also called “the Graveyard,” famous for a massive graveyard for giants (a former battlefield hundreds of miles in diameter), for the Taint (a humanish clan that relies on golems somehow), and for the Valley Hobbits. The Hobbits are the only civilization there that stays in one place. All other cultures are nomadic (so the rumor goes, of course). Magic Books
  • Fortuinsiiv –
  • Mitterstorm – ‘the dying plane’
  • Myanon – is seething with human and demi-human life. Although it also had a second moon for five years, it mysteriously avoided a large-scale outbreak of lycanthropy. Life is so close to the pre-cataclysmic Prime plane there that the theologian and planar specialists of Catalon sometimes speculate that Myanon has taken the Prime’s place in the limelight. Once home to the MacGregor Clan.
  • Nekka
  • The Nine Kingdoms – Mask of the Aleoids, 9 Kingdoms Fly 8th level, Magic Books
  • Orinocco – Plane of the Tyrant, Magic Books
  • Reason – SHINING ISLE- Home to Yamara (Alestria quest?) Carrock has long thought that the Shining Isles are somehow separate from the plane of Reason. A brief consultation with the planar expert on Catalon reveals that this is wrong. The Shining Isles are indeed the home of Yamara, however.
  • Simistrum Blue- Special Blue magic Most of the landscape is incapable of sustaining life, and the rest is occupied by humanoids. The special blue magic refers to these bizarre, very ancient “bluesteel hearths” left over from a forgotten time.
  • Sovvan – is a plane of deserts and mountains
  • Yaneh – Home to a city which serves as an interplanar nexus. Home to Sophar Mist, the druidic enigma. The 9 Avatars.
  • Yennon– Also called the “Plane of the Maeyin.” Whatever these Maeyin are, apparently they have a pact against rival powers. It’s well known that no character of “reigning age” (i.e. 15th level or higher) should stay there for long.

  Outer Planes

These planes are either controlled by one God or allow the intervention of a group of gods, such as those from a given sphere. These planes do not have companion ethereal planes. In addition to the planes listed here most major gods have their own ‘home’ planes.

  • Azure Sky: mysterious plane that houses a vssgon, giant lamps and an archon outpost. Giant mountain is rumored to be the birthplace of human beings. (Plane M on planar map, adventure 6).  The Vssgon has been destroyed by the hatchlings of the “god egg” behind the lamps, and a coalition of the gods.
  • Catalon (Ka) – This pocket plane contains an exact replica of catalon and was given as a gift from Ka to Lakshmi.
  • The Highway: a plane that links the inner planes to the cluster of planes surrounding Kriveriseth, a hub of outer-planar activity in the North. The plane is the safest route to Kriveriseth, but traveler must pay a substantial toll to two servitors that stand guard at the passage to the northbound node. (Planar-south of Plane I)
  • (Ixion) – a very orderly and hierarchical plane run by worshippers of Ixion.
  • Kriveriseth: A diaboli plane that serves as a gathering point for interplanar travelers, much like Koyarekist but on a smaller scale. (Plane I)
  • The Museum of Sagacious Rulers: a building-sized plane that once displayed statues of the multiverse’s wisest political leaders. The museum was apparently looted a century ago. (Plane O)
  • Negglend: Run by Entropy (said to be a huge training ground for entropic creatures, including demons — wanna go?)
  • Nezzerzhe: Everyone seems to get the home plane of the Soul Eaters spelled wrong. I haven’t seen how you spelled it on your page but I suspect the same is true there. The correct spelling is “Nezzerzhe,” and it’s an outer plane beyond the reach of a single gate (i.e. more than 12 planes away).
  • The Plane of 100,000 Skeletons: Home plane of Mesthota and the meeting place of the Mesthotic Elect.
  • Saunteau (Matter) – this plane has no Yanse artifacts.
  • Scale: A very ancient plane to which the elemental rulers have exclusive rights.
  • Steyendehel: Run by Time.
  • Tintheau: Run by Energy
  • Triumvirature: ruled by three monarchs with close ties to the Sphere of Time, strong class/racial disparities between the taint and ordinary humans. (Plane L)
  • Unonen: Plane reserved for gods and their children.  Home plane of Julia Hala.  Most mortals do not know if it’s existence.
  • Vortex of the North: here there is a great, swirling vortex that covers the sky and can pull just about anyone–even exalted creatures–into its clutches, sending them on a one-way trip to the far-flung wilds of the outer planes. Some say the vortex weakens or even closes once a year, for roughly half a day. (Plane N)
  • Wold: Run by Thought.
