The official state religion of the nation of Tae Ullari (formerly Klantyre in Glantri).
The Tae Ullari religion is focused on cooperation and the melding of seemingly opposite perspectives.
Taeu and Llari are literal opposites, sun and moon, light and dark, mental and physical but by combining them they create an entirely new aspect, this is an expression of the Immortals power.
Tae Ullari clerics can choose to revere a single aspect of the godess, Taeu or Llari, or seek to live in a perfected combined aspect of the two. They may even choose to follow a given path for a time and then switch to another, perhaps going from a questing or military cleric to a recluse researcher devoted to translating manuscripts.
Taeu is most commonly depicted as a young maiden with white skin and blond hair, this can vary regionally. She is a symbol of hope, planning, thought, education, defense and deliberate action. She is at the center of any group planning for the future, whether its for a family or for the siege of a city. She is often portrayed as dawn sun, or a white yearling or other young animal with streaks of gold in its fur or feathers.
Taeu clerics tend to find jobs close to home. Centers of civilization with libraries, universities and centers of learning or on the frontier acting as a guardian to the people there and providing them with opportunities to grow as people and a community. This can take many forms depending on the clerics predilections. One may find a Taeu instructing militia in weapon use or group tactics while another cleric could be found instructing commoners to read and write or sing forgotten folk songs of heroes past. They tend to be thoughtful, plain speaking people with kind hearts.
Taeu dress in whatever the setting deems appropriate. They are required to dress in full regalia at least once a week. They tend to favor oranges, reds and yellows, colors taken from the morning sun with copper, brass, bronze and gold polished to high reflective shine. Sky blues or purples are often used as accent colors. If carrying a shield they will be emblazoned with the Tae Ullari Holy Symbol if at all possible.
Llari are the opposite, they are brash and often brooding folk, ready to rush head long into a problem before truly thinking the full situation through, whatever, in their minds, seems most heroic at the moment. As much as Taeu are thinkers, Laris are doers. There is no better action, than immediate action, and the bolder, the better. Laris will be found leading troops against a great foe or a band of adventurers against some great evil, or in search of a fabled treasure. They are most commonly associated with action, passion, adventure, heroics, offense and intuition. They are most commonly associated with the full moon.
I can’t remember now…did Carrock make some cleric-y magic items for your “clerics” to use? It seems like there were a few cure necklaces or something, but I can’t find specific notes on whether it was a completed project or a plan.
If and when we get back to the Prime, Carrock is also willing to walk around Tae Ullari disguise-disguised as a cleric of Taeu/Llari, spreading the good word and totally believable magic ability, if Efrim thinks that would be helpful. I figure the Prime has had enough death and destruction that a little faith isn’t a bad thing to trick people into…and it might be real soon enough.
